Hi Mike,
No you would not need to as Carbonin design their bodywork to fit perfectly with the OEM subframe.
If you are looking to change your subframe in the future please note that after market subframes do not have all of the original mounting points on them and they often need customization to the subframe or bodywork.
We do know that you can use Tightails subframe but you need to select the short bracket option to work with the carbonin tail unit. You will also need to trim a section on the sides or underneath of the tail unit where the tail was designed like the oem tail to fully cover the subframe up to the battery box. Tightails is wider at the bottom than the oem subframe due to it being tubular, if they made it narrower then the battery box would not fit. You can see below the cutout made for the lower tubular frame.
We do know Motoholders subframes do not fit without extensive bracket making skills as they have nowhere for our mounting holes to align or bolt the tail piece down to.
